Our Philosophy

We strongly believe that all students come to us with the raw potential necessary to succeed in life. Our goal is to mine that potential and to help our students refine it. This process begins with their tenure with us but continues throughout the course of their lives. In partnership with our students, their parents, and vested community members, we work together to help students achieve lifelong success.

Our Curriculum

Our instructional program is rigorous and demanding. We have an unwavering focus on learning and student success. We use data to continuously inform, examine and modify our practice and to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of both our students and research based practices to enhance learning.

Our school model respects each child’s unique abilities and talents and uses these assets as a foundation for academic development and individual growth. Instructional strategies and assessment of continuous progress are tailored to help individual students grow and develop a standard of excellence.

We employ a well structured, rigorous Kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum incorporating Core Knowledge, Direct Instruction and International Baccalaureate reform models. These will be assimilated into a comprehensive program of established best practices in learning and teaching in order to develop and nurture in each child:

  1. The competence and passion for lifelong learning; ensuring that all learners regardless of economic and social background, succeed academically and become contributing citizens of a global society;
  2. The capacity to live purposeful lives through self-reflection, self-direction and self-expression;
  3. The ability to develop their individual talents and abilities while contributing to a school culture of excellence;
  4. Increased levels of academic performance and personal achievement relevant to success in the new millennium, including the ability to think critically, argue effectively and use technology appropriately in education while developing a commitment to social and environmental causes;
  5. A balanced cultural perspective consistent with our diverse communities.
